Bennions

  • Israel Bennion

    After homesteading several ranches in the region, Israel Bennion moved his operation to its present location in 1916 at the foot of Greenjacket hill.

  • Glynn Bennion

    Like his father, Glynn homesteaded cattle ranches throughout the West Desert, ultimately ending up at Riverbed Ranch.

  • Colin Bennion

    After serving in WWII, Colin studied Range Management and Botany, knowing every plant in the desert. He taught school locally and ranched in Greenjacket and Riverbed.

Bennions

  • Robert (Uncle Bob) Bennion

    One of our inspirations when returning to the ranch because he had grown up here and other parts of the west desert. He served a mission to the Navajo and Hopi in Arizona and learned ant taught the native ways. He and taught Psychology at BYU.

  • Elizabeth B Mitchell

    Returned to Vernon in 1997, restored the ranch house in 2000, and took over full control of the ranch in 2001. She is the heart of the ranch while raising 5 children and 15 grandchildren.

  • Alan Rex Mitchell

    Trained in Soil Science, Alan is in charge of the farming on the ranch and doing whatever pleases his sweetheart.
